Loan Officer Assistant (Arlington, Texas)

Established, full service, mortgage company in the heart of the Dallas/ Fort Worth Metroplex, is looking to add a Loan Officer Assistant to our expanding team. LO Assistant is the starting position for the sales force. This is primarily a learning position where future loan officers can hone their skill. The main duty of this person is to take the extraneous work off of the Sr. Loan Officer, freeing them up to generate more sales.

Responsibilities include:  Inputting files into the Loan Origination System.  Inputting files into Automated Underwriting Systems.  Lead tracking and follow up tracking. The LO Assistant may also be responsible for sending out all required disclosures so that the company is in compliance.  The LO Assistant helps the Loan Officer by performing many clerical functions including faxing documents, preparing correspondence, making copies of borrower information, filing, etc…  The LO Assistant helps the Loan Officer by ordering in-file credit reports and completing all of the prequalification application, worksheets, approval and denial documents.  The LO Assistant maintains and updates the Loan Officer’s customer database, mails thank-you notes to customers and Realtors, implements the Realtor and customer postcard campaigns, prepares fliers and rate sheets and other marketing items. They also help with coordinating open house luncheons, Realtor gifts, holiday parties, etc…  The LO Assistant strives to fill-in, when possible, for the Loan Officer when he/she is unavailable. They answer the Loan Officer’s phone, returns calls, and attempts to find answers to the customers’ questions by coordinating with the Loan Officer and Processor.

Qualifications: 

  Effective written and verbal communication skills 
- Strong initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision 
- Superior organizational skills  
- Mortgage industry experience or bachelor degree preferred but not required
- Bilingual is a plus
